Our full electrical fit-out of Clarendon House on Edinburgh’s George Street has surged forward recently, ahead of the refurbishment’s completion in June 2024 that will see the site become one of the city’s most sought after low-energy, all-electric office locations – New Clarendon.
We installed lighting from the Austrian innovators at Zumtobel, controlled via a Dali system. It features a ‘Circadian’ function which goes through an entire spectrum of lighting temperatures to mimic natural daylight for improved productivity and wellbeing in the workplace.
Our team including our specialist sub-contractors also installed a state of the art Gent fire detection system, as well as open path door access into each suite with integrated app/cloud-based control. Blacked out containment for all electrical, fire and security systems was taken care of too, with additional data trays also fitted for future use.
Electrics for the ‘Superloos’ – essentially self-contained cubicles containing a toilet, hand-drying facility and vanity unit – were also fitted throughout, with LED tape running around walls and recesses. Additionally, we wired in electric heated mirrors and underfloor heating, and a disabled WC alarm which can be remotely monitored from the reception desk, together with floor suite indicators.
A new Electrical Main Panel with Distribution boards consisting of two three-phase split metered boards were put in place to monitor electrical usage for energy efficiency. And lastly, within the roof space we set up a back-up generator complete with a Life Safety Control Panel system which includes a fire fighters’ lift, fire alarm panel, and IT communications board.
